I think it's not possible.
It's because, particle is either in true or false condition to be sent in new event.
It can't be both (half sent into the next event) Smile
As we in Serbia said: "You're either pregnant, or not. You can't be half pregnant". Smile

As for the C4D test above, I think it's pretty easy to accomplish this by using Ty_select modifier and X-form (scale), or push modifier (negative push).
So, no particles, just modifiers.
