channels into a gradient map

Hi.

Is there a possibility to pipe velocity or other channels (density) into material or gradient. So I can colorize particles according to these channels.
Something like magma modifier in krakatoa or even maya nparticles gradient tools or phoenix volumetric properties.

Yes, of course. Look at the UVWGradient example scene. Just pipe in velocity or any other scalar value, instead of particle age.
