It's pretty odd for a modern mouse to be lacking a scroll wheel...

I've been using this mouse for CAD for a long time.
If there is no other way to scroll, get a new mouse.

How do you scroll in any other context, without the wheel? Ex: in a web browser?

Use the middle button to drag or use the scroll bar.
Particle Flow has a zoom icon button in the lower right corner of the screen.
