Stop Tyflow from making simulations
#1
Hi everybody,

I'm quite new to Tyflow, and I have a simple question :

I did a simulation in Tyflow, of which I'm fairly happy. So I want to keep it like that, no need for any further simulations. What I normally do is to export particules as objects, and delete Tyflow, so it won't bother me recalculating everything each time I select an object in the scene or touch the timeline.
But in this case, I did a spline path, renderable thanks to a TySplineMesher, which is not exported as animated mesh if I export my particules as objects.
I tried to export it as tyCache (splines) but as expected it only gives me a spline, which is not renderable.

I guess that I'm not facing the problem the right way, the solution might just be to "shut down" TyFlow, to say it "Stop any simulations, your work is done here !".

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

You can convert a spline cache to geometry with a tySplineMesher or any other modifier that converts splines to geo.

As for flow resetting, you can disable auto reset from the editor right click menu. If you believe the flow is resetting in error (its resetting even though nothing has changed), you can turn on "print sim reset info" from the tyFlow debugging rollout in the modifier panel, to display reset info in the MAXScript listener. It will tell you which input object is triggering the reset.
