definitely better than huge alembics or USD :]

I think the best solution for inter-app data transfer would ultimately be USD. I'm sure it can probably support instancing, I've just never looked into it.

I've never looked into the USD format, so I can't speak to whether or not I'll be able to support it in the future. Seems like it's slowly replacing Alembic, so I don't see it outside the realm of possibility though, if it's becoming the standard.

Actually, it will be awesome to have it. Now on the production that I'm on, that's the only blocker I'm finding for not using it instead of Houdini for exporting caches into Unreal 5.
