Port the 'generate topology' tool to a modifier
#1
Hi,

not sure if possible, but think it would be useful if Max's built in generate topology tool was ported to a TyFlow modifier - so it wasn't a permanent change to the model

It's pretty useful, just a shame that it's not a procedural thing AFAIK

Similarly there are a few blender plugins for weathering geometry, like One Click Damage to take chunks off geometry which would seem a good fit for TyFlow

Thanks,

Steve

Is that the one you can use to create different patterns in the ordering of mesh faces?

Hi,

yeah that's the one - think it was originally part of the graphite(?) script

You can make them honeycomb, wood tile patterns, trash the model a bit etc.

This sounds indeed useful!
Some VFX require a homogenous topology, if you want to fracture them nicely for motion design, especially organic objects which have by default an unusable edgeflow topology. I was stunned, how easy this tool can retopologize meshes.
