Why is the simulation process so slow
#1
i very like tyflow, but same problem, my computer is i9-12th, 64G DDR4,  Nivida A5000 24G, but When i simulate a scene of 600 frames, The  process is very very  slow ,It will take about 4 hours! just used physicx shape and physics collition, number of particles is 200, and then in the 150 frame use time test to broken into 7000 pieces. OH!!!! it's too crazy! why is it so slow? i wish i can get help for me, thanks! i opend the typrofiles, but i didn't see any threads occupying it either, and usually When the number of particles exceeds 10000,600 key frame,  it 's  very slow. especially when using physics operation

Are you using the free version? It has no multi-threading.

i used the beta version, 0.161

If you post your scene I can take a look...

Well by frame 300 you have 60,000 rigidbodies, so yes...that will be slow. But I'm not sure why it's taking 4 hours on your machine. After frame 300, on my machine, when the sim is heaviest with all 60k rigidbodies...it takes about 2.5 seconds per frame to simulate (and I have the same CPU that you have)...so frame 300-600 would take about 10-15 minutes to finish simulating. That's pretty reasonable, given the complexity of the scene.

Is it related to the graphics card? Additionally, in the initial stage just number of 200 particle is rigidbody, After being shattered, do they still is rigidbody ? still have physics property? but the fragments seem to no longer be rigidbody. so i added to collison and force operate. And they should not have a significant impact for speed?

PhysX will only use your graphics card if you have CUDA enabled in the PhysX settings, which you do not.

After being shattered the particles are still rigidbodies, yes.

Since after being shattered the particles are still rigidbodies, Why did not have the previous physical properties ?

I added collision and fore operate at event2 and event3, they are All effective, if i don‘t add its, particles will disperse
