generate spray,foam extremelly slow
#1
Hi,
maybe I'm doing something wrong but enabling generate spray in birth fluid takes a lot of time.

Tried with two fluids, pretty simple, both less than 10M cells.
One of them is the beach waves sample from Chaos, I decreased resolution to 8,9M voxels.
10 frames sim took 17 seconds.
Birth fluid 10 with enabled generate spray took around 6-8min, not sure how much exactly, but the first frame took 28 seconds, so 1 frame is 1,6 longer than the entire simulation in Phoenix.

Is it correct behavior?

Sounds like there's some kind of issue...

You can use the tyProfiler (Editor > right-click > Utilities) to profile operator timings to see where the slowdown is occurring.

Hi, here is a screenshot.

For some reason one of the sims(beach waves from chaos) today worked just fine, while nothing changed.

This one is still too slow, but it is even simpler - 3,8M cells.

Hmm, so the slowdown is occurring when tyFlow is just updating the Phoenix object (calling Phoenix's own functions). The actual work being done in the Birth Fluid operator is not the cause of the slowdown.

To further debug this I would need access to the cache and your scene. If you want to zip it up and send it over to support@tyflow.com I can see if there are any other clues that might explain what's going on.

ok, will do it in a few min

Done, I added just a few frames of cache - should be enough I think
