vray instance ID problem

I am trying to use  the new instance ID operator with some tyactors and I'm running into a problem.

I've attached an image that shows what happens.   

Basically I have a multisub material applied to the source geo and the tyflow system itself

Material 2 has a vraymultisub set to use vrayinstance id.  Its being added with a color transform function over the top of the original material color through a composite map to add variation

when the actor is just a plane, the particles render correctly with material 2 getting some variation

but when the actor is a rigged character it ignores the material variation.

I'm bumping this post just to see if anyone has come across this problem and whether the newest version tyflow handles the vray multisubtexture differently.

The Instance Material operator only operates on particles, not skinned actor meshes. You can see in the roadmap better material variation support for actors is already on the list.
